The management of The Industry Newspaper (TIN), has announced Chief Yomi Otubela  as the Chairman of the 2026 edition of its flagship special project, “Top 50 Nigerian Companies of Impact”, an annual recognition event, aimed at celebrating Nigerian companies driving resilience, innovation, job creation, and national development across key sectors of the economy.

 

The marketing publication, in a statement signed by its Editor -in-Chief and Publisher, Mr. Goddie Ofose, explained that this year’s edition tagged: “Building Resilience, Driving Growth: Nigerian Companies Shaping the Next Decade”, will be held on Friday, August 21, this year, in Lagos.

The Publication described Chief Otubela, who is the President, National Association of Proprietors of Private Schools, NAPPS, and Founder/CEO of Lagooz Schools, as bringing decades of distinguished leadership as an entrepreneur and educationist of note.

 

“Under his stewardship, Lagooz Schools has set benchmarks in curriculum delivery, technology integration, and talent grooming, impacting thousands of Nigerian students.

“As an entrepreneur, Chief Otubela has championed private sector participation in education and has been a strong advocate for policies that enable businesses to thrive while contributing to nation-building. His voice has shaped conversations on skills development, human capital investment, and the role of SMEs and large enterprises in Nigeria’s economic future,” the Publication added.

In his role as Chairman of the 2026 Top 50, Chief Otubela will provide strategic guidance for the selection process, deliver the Chairman’s Address at the event, and lead conversations on how Nigerian companies can deepen impact through innovation, governance, and social responsibility.

Expressing the Publication’s delight at the development, Ofose  described Otubela as embodying the spirit of impact the Publication seeks to celebrate, building institutions, empowering people, and creating value that outlives quarterly reports.

 

“His experience as both an entrepreneur and educationist makes him uniquely positioned to spotlight companies that are not just profitable, but purposeful,” he added.

He added the event will also feature industry leaders from banking, energy, manufacturing, healthcare, technology, aviation, and education, among others.
